Brains behind the beneficiary
The Winemakers Master Class fundraising event concept was originally coined by Travis Schultz, combining his passion for all things charity, wine, community and business. We are more than grateful Travis chose SunnyKids to be the beneficiary of his fundraising concept and we truly value our long-term relationship with him and this team of compensation lawyers with compassion.
Now in its ninth year running, the total amount raised over the past eight years exceeds $440,000 for SunnyKids. This year our goal is to raise at least $150,000 for at risk kids across the Sunshine Coast. Which is why we need you!
Travis shares some fun facts with us about his passion for wine, food and travel:
Favourite Food? I love spicy Middle Eastern cuisine but that isn’t always compatible with wine, so I’d have to say beef Osso Bucco or Wagyu rib fillet with a glass or two of cool climate shiraz.
Favourite place to travel? Somewhere with my bike with big mountains and picturesque countryside. I love the Dolomites, the Alps and the Pyrenees.
The three people I’d most like to invite to dinner? I’d love to talk wine with the maker of whatever is being served with the main course at the Winemakers Master Class… so perhaps Sarah Crowe, Chris Ringland – a fantastic winemaker from the Barossa and Madame Clicquote Ponsardine – a famous French Champagne maker.
What do you enjoy doing when you’re not being one of the best compensation lawyers in the country? Bike riding, boating and anything my over active 13-year-old son drags me along to.
Most valuable piece of advice you’ve ever received? The road to mediocrity is paved with excuses.
If I had to describe myself as a wine……what would it be and why? I’ll have to use a process of elimination. I’m lacking in the youthful exuberance, liveliness and fruit forward expression of a recently released sauv blanc; and I’m somewhat deficient in the elegance, polished style and charm of a well cellared shiraz. So perhaps that makes me a beer??
