Talking Business Co is proud to support the SunnyKids Transitional Housing Project by providing essential internet and telephony services to each home at a greatly discounted rate. Their contribution ensures that families in crisis are not just housed, but connected—giving them access to support services, job opportunities, education, and a vital link to community.

For Managing Director Brett Merriman, this support is deeply personal. It’s a continuation of a dream shared with his late wife, who was passionate about helping children in need. Together, they supported international children’s programs for many years, but eventually felt drawn to addressing child poverty closer to home.

“Poverty in Australia seems to be a dirty word,” Brett says. “We’re seen as an affluent country, yet so many families are in crisis. My wife began our transition from international to local support, but when she was diagnosed with Young Onset Alzheimer’s, my focus shifted to caring for her.”

His wife tragically passed away last year at just 58 years old. Now, Brett is honouring her legacy by continuing her mission to help vulnerable children right here in Australia.

“In her memory, I’m continuing her dream to assist as many children as I can. It turns out, I have a heart for it too.”

Through their support of SunnyKids, Brett and the Talking Business Co team are doing more than providing a service—they are helping families in transition stay connected to what matters most: hope, opportunity, and a path forward.
