Pippa Colman – A Legacy of Advocacy and Community Empowerment

Alexandra Phillipa (“Pippa”) Colman is the Founder and Director of Pippa Colman Family Law, a long-established firm known for its compassionate and expert support for families navigating crisis. With a career spanning decades, Pippa has built a practice that not only delivers trusted legal advice, but also champions education as a tool for empowerment—both for the wider community and the next generation of legal professionals.

Through free community legal education and mentoring for early career lawyers, Pippa Colman Family Law is dedicated to creating access to knowledge and justice for all. What sets the firm apart is a longstanding commitment to giving back—reflected in the many initiatives Pippa has pioneered across the Sunshine Coast since the 1970s. From helping establish the Maroochydore Neighbourhood Centre and Duty Solicitor Scheme to founding local Contact Centres and professional development programs, her impact on the legal and social fabric of the Coast is significant.

Inspired by her friend and respected community leader Marilyn Black, Pippa became a supporter of SunnyKids because of its direct and meaningful support for children in need. As a long-time advocate for social equity, she believes strongly in the responsibility of those who can give, to do so.

Pippa’s business continues to evolve, always seeking new ways to improve and better serve the community. Behind the scenes, the firm is proudly led by three women directors—a powerful reflection of its progressive values and leadership.

For Pippa and her team, helping people in crisis is more than a job—it’s a purpose. And by supporting SunnyKids, they are helping to create safer, more supported futures for the most vulnerable in our region.
