The $100K Challenge Has Launched!
One month. One goal. One powerful opportunity to change lives.
SunnyKids is proud to launch one of the most impactful campaigns in our history—The $100K Challenge.
Throughout May, during Domestic Violence Awareness Month, every eligible donation will be matched dollar-for-dollar—up to $100,000—thanks to the incredible generosity of a local Sunshine Coast philanthropist.
That means:
• Donate $50? It becomes $100.
• Donate $200? That’s $400 going directly to families in need.
Your support will directly fund our Transitional Housing Project, providing:
- Safe, short-term accommodation for families escaping violence
- Wraparound support services to help rebuild their lives
- A path toward long-term safety and independence
Because every child deserves to feel safe.
Because every family deserves a chance to rebuild.
Join us this May.
Donate. Share. Make a difference.
Together, we can raise $100,000 in 31 days—and unlock the full match for a total of $200,000 to support families in crisis.
Please note: Donations already allocated to regularly scheduled events or essential programs outside of the Transitional Housing Project are not eligible for matched funding as part of The $100K Challenge.

SunnyKids Transitional Housing Project
Access to safe, stable housing is critical for families escaping domestic and family violence. In response to the growing housing crisis, SunnyKids is building six transitional townhouses on the Sunshine Coast to provide vulnerable families with a supported pathway from crisis to independence.
Thanks to the generosity of key community partners—including Firefly Education, local philanthropists, legal experts, builders, and service providers—the first three homes are fully funded and under construction.
We’re now seeking support to complete the remaining three homes, which will collectively provide 5,475 bed nights annually and help 132 individuals each year.
This project gives families the stability to heal, save for a bond, establish a rental history, and access wraparound support, helping them transition to long-term housing and a brighter future.
Together, we’re building more than homes—we’re rebuilding lives.
